About

Welcome to Westside Voices

A community-centered platform focused on storytelling, accountability, and neighborhood change across Atlanta’s Westside.

Too often, the people most impacted by development, flooding, displacement, and environmental injustice are the last to be heard. That is why I created Westside Voices.

As someone born and raised in Atlanta and deeply rooted in the Westside, I know these neighborhoods hold history, power, and people who deserve more than being talked about — they deserve to be listened to. Westside Voices is a platform for community-centered storytelling, accountability, and truth telling. It is a space where residents, organizers, elders, and everyday people can share what they see, what they know, and what they want for the future of our communities.

This work is rooted in listening first. Before the stories, before the headlines, there are conversations on porches, at parks, in churches, at community meetings, and on sidewalks. That is where real reporting begins.

Westside Voices will focus on development, environmental justice, public spaces, housing, history, and the decisions shaping our neighborhoods. We are here to ask hard questions, document change, and make sure community voices are not left out of the story.

This is more than news. This is memory, accountability, and community power.

This is Westside Voices by Genia Billingsley.
